Publication Date: Wed, 29 Jan 2014

The public is being urged not to fall victim to a number of telephone scams.

Police say they’ve had reports that foreign nationals with a Chinese or Indian accent are pretending to be from banks, computer companies or the lottery.

The caller asks for personal details or requests that money be sent through the Money Gram service.

People are being urged to be extra cautious when giving out personal information.
