Water and Sewerage Authority says it has no choice in 'toilet tax'

The chairman of the Water and Sewerage Authority says the new ‘toilet tax’ has been introduced with a heavy heart.

It was revealed last week that the public will be hit with a £50 surcharge for sewerage in 2014 - a figure set to rise to £100 next year.

MHK John Houghton says it was not something he wanted to implement, but they were left with no choice.
