No major rise in inflation expected in January

The Treasury Minister says he doesn't expect to see a major rise in inflation in January.

The rate is usually around two to three per cent and although the official figure hasn't yet been revealed, the Treasury says the rise has been relatively low and steady over the last few years.

Eddie Teare says for some sectors of the community the figures won’t reflect their purchasing patterns.
