A vaccination which protects people from Yellow Fever is in short supply on the Island.

As a result, people who are planning to travel to regions of Africa and South America have been urged to think about considering a different destination.

Yellow Fever is a viral disease that is transmitted by several species of mosquito and causes around 30,000 deaths a year.

The Department of Health says since July there has been an interruption to vaccine supplies and it’s likely this will continue until January next year.
