Rushen MHK's outvoted over Southern Area Plan development

The opposition of three Rushen MHK’s has proved not enough and the Southern Area Plan has been given the go ahead in Tynwald.
The plan outlines a series of developments for areas in the south, with the sticking point being a housing development for Ballakilley
MHK’s Laurence Skelly, Juan Watterson and Phil Gawne outlined their opposition to the plans, with the DEFA Minister expressing a desire to see more sports and recreational facilities in the area.
In the end they were greatly outvoted in favour of the works, 28 to four.
