Onchan residents asked for boundary thoughts

Onchan residents are being encouraged to submit their views on the proposals for a radical shake up of constituency boundaries.
Tynwald recently agreed on a recommendation from a review committee that there should be 12 constituencies each returning two political members.
It stated no constituency should exceed 15 per cent above or below the average population figure.
To achieve this target a large proportion of the Birch Hill electoral area bounded by Hillberry Road, Avondale Road, Main Road, School Road, would be joined to Laxey and Lonan to form the East constituency.
The remaining area would be named Onchan Urban.
Onchan Commissioners will be holding a public meeting on the matter at the Onchan Youth and Community Centre in School Road a week on Friday at 7pm.
