Inflation rate remains steady

The annual rate of inflation remained at 2.5 per cent in January – the same level as in December.
Excluding housing costs, the annual rate of inflation as shown by the RPI decreased to 1.8 per cent down from 2 per cent.
The annual rate of inflation as shown by the Consumer Prices Index saw the biggest change – decreasing to 1.1 per cent from 1.4 per cent at the end of last year.
