Douglas man died from drowning

An inquest has heard a man found dead in Douglas died as a result of drowning.

The body of Kevin Wilkinson was discovered in the River Douglas opposite Leigh Terrace at around 4.45pm on Tuesday 4th December.

The coastguard assisted in recovering his body from the water.

A post mortem examination revealed  the 52 year old chef had died from fresh water drowning.

No details about the circumstances surrounding Mr Wilkinson’s death were released and the inquest was adjourned until a later date.
