Fuel usage decreasing leaving government out of pocket

Fuel consumption on the Island has fallen as motorists react to increased prices at the pumps.
Last year the volume of fuel used dropped from 51 million litres to 50 million.
Figures for this year show it’s falling at an even faster rate.
It’s thought people are using less fuel by planning their journeys and not going out as often.
Treasury Minister Eddie Teare says it’s left a hole in government finances:
