Jury delivers verdict in election fraud trial

Two women have been found guilty of playing a part in attempting to rig the Douglas East by -election.
40 year old Gail Corrin and 25 year old Kerry Rothwell have been convicted of conspiracy to affect legal purpose by improper means.
Former Commissioners Clerk Charles Lewin has already admitted three counts of election fraud.
The three will be sentenced next month.
Police say the attempt by the defendants to engineer the outcome of the Douglas East by-election in May 2010 struck at the very heart of democracy.
It involved a highly organised system which was designed to fraudulently obtain proxy voting rights from householders in Douglas East and cast these votes for TV chef Kevin Woodford.
