Charges to apply for disposal of certain items at Douglas amenity site

Members of the public will be charged to throw away certain items of rubbish at a Douglas amenity site.
Douglas Borough Council will now charge residents to dispose of old fridges and freezers at Middle River.
It’s the same policy that’s in operation at the rest of the civic amenity sites around the Island.
The council says it’s introducing disposal fees so the costs are borne solely by the people using the service and not incorporated into rates.
