The MEA have described today’s power cut as a 'rare occurrence'.
At 3pm today around 10,000 customers lost power due to a fault on the 11kV line in the Union Mills area.
The fault wiped out supplies across the Capital as well as rural areas but most had power restored within 90 minutes. The remaining customers were back on at 6pm.
