Government won't assess benefits of independence

The Chief Minister doesn't think it's the right time for the Island to be thinking about independence, given the current economic turmoil.

Allan Bell was asked to make a statement about the issue in Tynwald today.

Rushen MHK Laurence Skelly wanted to know if the government has examined the potential benefits of independence recently.

Mr Bell says the matter won't be revisited at the moment.[play media file below]
