Landowners urged to take pro-active approach to hedges

Landowners are being encouraged to take a more pro-active approach to maintaining their hedges.
For many decades the Department of Infrastructure has cut all the hedges around the island, however, with the reductions in budgets, it says this is not something which can be continued.
Teams are selective with which areas they cut now, only trimming verges which can impede visibility at junctions.
Hedges will only be cut where safety implications have been identified.
