Motorists travelling into Douglas from the south face disruption and longer journey times this morning.
The Department of Infrastructure has started nine weeks of road works between Saddle Road and Quarterbridge.
Traffic heading into Douglas from the south should use either Cooil Road and Vicarage Road, or Kewaigue and South Quay, to avoid long delays at the Groves Road traffic lights.
Director of Highways Richard Pearson said he understood motorists may be frustrated but asked them to respect the workforce.
