Fire service deal with fire at Terrace Chippy

The Fire Service has been dealing with a fire at the Terrace Chippy in Douglas this afternoon.

Fire crews are still on scene at the chip shop which is on Prospect Terrace.

The road was closed and buses were diverted away.

Members of the public were advised to stay away from the area.

Staff in nearby shops including Robinson’s were asked to vacate their premises.

It is believed a faulty extractor fan could have been to blame.
