£3m will spent on improving facilities at Victoria Road School in Castletown.

Tynwald has approved the expenditure.

Planning permission has been given for an extension which would include two new classrooms and a multi-purpose hall.

Disabled access at the primary school is said to be poor and this will also be improved.

Parts of the old building are in a bad state of repair.

Castletown MHK Richard Ronan believes the work is much needed.
