Mark Cavendish has taken his second stage win of this year's Giro d'Italia.

The Manx cyclist claimed victory on stage 5 of the first of the year's Grand Tours.

It comes just 3 days after a high speed crash which left him with a number of large grazes.

His other win came on stage 2, and he was in a strong position to take another win in stage 3 before Roberto Ferrari cut across his path causing a crash.

The latest win takes the world champion to just 8 points behind Matt Goss in the race for the sprinters' red jersey.

The Giro is the only of the Grand Tours that Cav hasn't topped the points classification in.
