Onchan MHK Zac Hall says his priorities are now his family and his constituents after being kicked out of the Liberal Vannin Party.
Mr Hall had his membership revoked following a meeting by the party's executive earlier this week, where it was decided he had undermined the reputation of the party.
Mr Hall wasn't present or invited to the meeting.
He was suspended from the party after being sacked from the Department of Education and Children for failing to turn up to a Tynwald vote on the preschool provision.
Mr Hall and his wife are expecting their first child in the next week.
With that in mind he says his focus will be his family, and thereafter the people of Onchan.
