The polls are now open in half of the Island's local authorities.
Voters have from 8.00am to 8.00pm to chose who should serve on the local government board in their area.
However, in 12 areas, and 2 wards of Douglas, there is no vote due to the number of candidates that came forward.
Commissioners and Councillors deal with a range of issues including rubbish collection, planning and setting the rates.
The Department of Infrastructure, which is responsible for local government, has been encouraging those eligible to vote to make sure they get to the polls.
