Allied Irish Banks is pulling out of the Isle of Man following a strategic review.

AIB is to wind down its operations on the Island and in Jersey, and will cease trading on the Isle of Man at the end of next year.

The company says it wants to become a smaller, domestically focused bank.

Consultation with staff will begin shortly, and all customers will be contacted in the near future.

The company currently has a workforce of 115 on the Island.
