£3m baggage system upgrade is vital says airport boss

Ronaldsway will lose its status as a UK domestic airport if the outgoing baggage system isn't upgraded.

At this month's sitting of Tynwald, Infrastructure Minister David Cretney will ask for almost £3m to install three new x-ray machines and a conveyer system.

New EU regulations mean the more advanced x-ray machines have to be in place by the first of September.
