Prisoner found dead in his cell

Isle of Man Prison

An inmate has been found dead in his cell at the Isle of Man Prison.

His body was discovered this morning.

In a statement released this afternoon, the Isle of Man Prison says the next of kin have been told of the death.

Police say the man's identity will be released once they're certain all family members have been informed.

The Coroner of Inquests has been notified of the death.

More information will be released in due course.
