Douglas Council is looking to replace the railings at the teenage play area in Noble's Park as soon as possible as they pose a health and safety risk.

The local authority believes the railings currently in place are likely to cause an accident.

Replacement railings costing just over £12,000 had already been approved by the Council, but the company awarded the work underestimated the cost.

Following a new tender process, the Leisure Services Committee now needs to seek a further £6,600 from the Risk Management and Special Projects Fund.

The full cost of the replacement will now be just under £19,000.
