DoI Minister wants improvement work carried out on busy Douglas street

The Infrastructure Minister says he'll be encouraging his officers to carry out work to tidy up a busy route in Douglas.
David Cretney says Market Street is a high-profile location but the road surface is affected by potholes and there is a problem with litter.
Early in 2007, the Government revealed plans to redevelop Market Street by widening the road and creating a retail link to Strand Street.
These proposals never came to fruition and now improvement works in Douglas have been focused on other areas, under the Town and Village Regeneration Scheme.
The Minister doesn't want Market Street to be neglected altogether.[play media file below]
