The Liberal Vannin Party is putting forward a candidate for the upcoming local authority elections.

Pat Ayres will represent the party in the election for the Ramsey South ward for Ramsey Town Commissioners.

Mr Ayres, a taxi owner and operator, also stood in the recent House of Keys election for Ayre, losing out to Treasury Minister Eddie Teare.

He says Ramsey is seen as a poor neighbour to Douglas, and that he wants to see Government transfer some of its offices to the town.

The elections takes place in April.
