DCCL to work in a more 'commercial' way

Publication Date: Fri, 27 Jan 2012  17:40

The Chief Executive of the DCCL says the department will work very hard to show it can operate its businesses with a 'private sector mind set.'

The original report of the Scope and Structure of Government Committee suggested that things like the buses, the NSC and the Villa/ Gaiety Complex shouldn't be operated by the government.

That committee has now been reformed.

Nick Black isn't keen to see privatisation and has made a submission to the group.

He says he's explained that the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure is making efforts to act in a much more commercial way.[play media file below]
