The government is asking for planning permission for a temporary hotel in Noble’s Park during the TT fortnight.

The application includes plans for the 240 bed hotel and a marquee to be placed on land next to the cafe and changing rooms.

It’s hoped the move will help address a lack of hotel bed space on the Island.

The portable hotel units are made by a company called Snoozebox and are used at other motorsports events including the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Room facilities include a living area, shower and toilet facilities, a TV and wireless internet access.

Douglas Corporation, which owns the park, has agreed for a temporary hotel to be located there.
