Warning to drivers using mobile phones at the wheel

Police are cracking down on those using their mobile phones behind wheel.

The Department of Infrastructure is also behind the campaign, reminding drivers that they face a £1000 fine if caught using their mobiles whilst driving.

Distractions such as mobile phones caused 39 crashes on the Island's roads last year.

Road Safety Manager Gordon Edwards says there are peak periods within the day when people use their phones [play clip]
