Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish has admitted missing a drugs test last year.

The world champion says he missed the out of competition test in April as he was filming on Mount Etna with the BBC.

Cav took to Twitter to explain, saying it was an admin error, and that it was his mistake.

He says he was also tested just a couple of weeks before the incident and twice the fortnight after, having around 60 tests in total last year.

Cavendish's Team Sky boss has described his as a powerful advocate for testing and keeping the sport clean.
