Tony Wild elected to Legislative Council

Banker Tony Wild is the newest member of the Legislative Council.

He received 16 votes from the House of Keys.

The only other candidate, Arbory Commissioner Brian Rae, received 5 votes.

Mr Wild was put forward for the position by Douglas North MHK John Houghton, and seconded by Chief Minister Allan Bell.

He'll serve for just over a year, when four seats are scheduled for election.

First Deemster David Doyle will swear Mr Wild in at 9.30 tomorrow morning.
