Over half of the members of the Whitley Council have turned down a pay freeze.

Over 2500 workers were balloted.

Nearly 60% responded, over 90% of which were against the 0% increase in pay.

Just 86 employees were willing to accept the proposals.

The Whitley Council says pay discussions will resume at a meeting on November 4th.
