The organisers of the Southern 100 are paying tribute to sidecar passenger Dave Wells, who died whilst racing at the weekend.

He was in the chair with Roy Hanks at Mallory Park on Saturday when he received fatal injuries.

Wells first competed at the Southern 100 in 1979 as a sidecar driver, before becoming a passenger in 1987.

He teamed up with Roy Hanks in 2000, and the duo came third at the Billown meeting three times, and were runners up twice.

He was also a veteran TT competitor.

Organisers say he'll always be remembered for working hard in the sidecar.
