President welcomes change in royal succession

The President of Tynwald has welcomed a change to the UK's royal succession law.

The new rules mean women will have equal rights to the throne as men.

Clare Christian says the move represents the greater role women play in modern society.

Mrs Christian is also a president of the Isle of Man branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.

The British Monarch also inherits the title of Lord of Mann.
