Move to change Tynwald structure referred to committee

An attempt to change the structure of the Manx Parliament has been halted by the Legislative Council.
The bill from MLC David Callister seeks to create eight constituencies on the Island, which would each contain three Keys members and one MLC - all voted for by the public.
It was down for its second reading this morning, but it was decided to refer it to the House of Keys.
It will now be up to MHKs to decide whether a joint committee is formed to look into the idea.
