Civil Aviation Authority warns about dangers of sky lanterns

There's a fresh warning over the safety of chinese sky lanterns.
Already this week, the Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading and the Fire Service has warned about the dangers they pose to people, animals and property.
Now we're being told there's also a risk aircraft.
The Island's Civil Aviation Authority say pilots may have to make unplanned manouvres if lanterns end up in their flight paths.
They can also cause damage if they get into the engine of a plane.
In these things happen, the people who released the lanterns could be prosecuted.
Director Hartley Elder says the airport should be notified if people are planning to use them.[play media file below]
