MHK annoyed at delay in finding new tenant for Jurby Store

The newly elected MHK for Michael is complaining about the length of time it's taking for the lease of Jurby Stores to be sorted out.

Residents have been without a village shop since July.

The nearest place for them to get groceries is several miles away.

The Department of Social Care owns the property and has been in the process of finding a new tenant.

It was supposed to have done this last month, but there's been a delay.

It's understood a decision is due soon.

MHK Alf Cannan believes the situation has been mishandled.[play media file below]
