CCTV from the lifting bridge shows a car ignoring the red light
Motorists are being warned they face serious injury or death by ignoring traffic lights at the lifting bridge on Douglas Quay.
The Department of Infrastructure says some drivers continually ignore the red lights when the bridge is about to be raised.
The DoI says this practice also causes damage to the barriers, which are costly to repair.
Police warn that if this continues they will prosecute those ignoring the lights.
