The Infrastructure Minister is warning against harsh spending cuts.
Phil Gawne says restricting spending could lead to problems for the private sector, and result in a downturn in the economy.
Mr Gawne is seeking re-election in his constituency of Rushen.
Some election candidates have called for the Government to tighten its purse strings.
