Bus contracts were won fair and square says minister

The government's responded to the criticism it's facing after staff at Protours were given redundancy notices.

The boss of the troubled coach company blames the problems on the loss of public sector contracts for things like school travel.

He says the contracts were given to Bus Vannin and not put out to tender.

However the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure says it has tendered for Department of Education contracts.

Minister David Cretney says the process has been fair.[Play audio file below]
