Minister calls for change to employment system

The Infrastructure Minister is calling for the Government's employment structures to be simplified.
Phil Gawne was the chairman of a committee which looked into the structure and management of the public sector workforce.
Mr Gawne highlights the need to invest in improved technology and reduce the amount of time spent on administration.
The committee found Government workers are confused by the current system, whilst Unions are frustrated by it.
The final report by the committee was submitted several months ago, and the Minister says greater urgency in implementing the recommendations is now needed.
