Around 1700 walkers are taking to the Island's roads today for the annual Parish Walk.

The event sees competitors tackle an 85 mile course taking them through every Parish on the Isle of Man.

A wide range of entrants take part, from elite walkers looking to set records, to fundraisers, and those just taking part for fun.

Police have asked motorists to be aware that there will be people on foot around the Island, and to drive appropriately.

Race Director Raymond Cox says only support vehicles will be allowed on some of the roads [play clip]
