Safe driving request ahead of Parish Walk

Publication Date: Thu, 23 Jun 2011  09:42

Police are reminding motorists of the need to drive safely ahead of this year's Parish Walk.

The annual event gets underway at 8.00am this Saturday.

Officers say motorists can expect to see walkers in areas they might not normally, particularly in the north and east of the Island at night.

A section of the Douglas to Peel road will be closed between Strang and Crosby on Saturday morning.

However, Inspector Mark Britton of the Roads Policing Unit is urging drivers to be considerate around the Island [play clip]
