The Department of Health has confirmed it's pressing ahead with plans to appoint a general surgeon to treat breast cancer patients.
The idea has caused concern that it's a downgrading of the current services.
The job description for the new doctor has now had approval from the Royal College of Surgeons.
The Department insists the consultant will spend most of their time providing care to breast patients, rather than carrying out other operations.
