Breast care petition goes online

A petition has gone online calling for the Department of Health to keep a dedicated breast cancer specialist at Noble's Hospital.

The government's plan is to get a new consultant who would also be able to carry out other types of surgery.

In the past, there has been a surgeon solely for breast care.

A campaign group has been set up by people worried that the breast cancer service is being downgraded.

They want Minister David Anderson to rethink his policy.

The petition was started a few weeks ago and is now on the 'i petitions' website.

Copies of the petition can also be found in certain businesses and organisations on the Island.
