The countdown to this year's TT has officially begun with the launch of the races taking place last night.
Riders, teams and sponsors gathered in the Villa Marina for the event.
The first practice session is just 40 days away.
Despite the global recession, political member for tourism - Geoff Corkish - says TT is still attracting major sponsorship [play clip]
TT and Motorsport Development Officer Paul Phillips says launch events help generate income from the races.
