Lieutenant Governor Adam Wood
The new Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man has been defending the role.
Adam Wood was sworn in to the post last week.
The position has been unpopular with some Island residents in the past, as the Governor used to be chosen by a UK panel.
However, Mr Wood is the first Lieutenant Governor to have been selected by Manx delegates.
He says the role is now more modern, and hopes progress continues during his period at Government House [play clip]
