The average annual pension for a retired female Whitley Council member is less than half of the male average.
Chairman of the Civil Service Commission John Houghton has revealed that male workers receive on average £5658.35.
The female average is £2334.94, just over 41% of the male average.
The figures were revealed in a written answer from this week's sitting of the House of Keys
