Majority of Government job cuts to vacant posts

Over 80% of the Government job cuts announced in the budget will be to positions which are already vacant.
231 of the 285 posts to be abolished are currently unfilled.
The public sector workforce is currently being reviewed so that the Government can make savings.
The figure was revealed by the Chief Minister in answer to a written question in the House of Keys from Rushen MHK Juan Watterson
