Island to donate to Niger

On the day that the prospect of job losses have been announced at the Dept of Community Culture and Leisure, the Isle of Man Overseas Aid Committee has revealed it's to give £50,000 to the North African country of Niger.
The Committee has an annual budget of £2.2 million pounds which equates to 0.2% of the Island's national income.
The Chairman of the Committee Phil Gawne MHK believes just because times are hard we should still reach out to others.
